Clinical ADE put it past patchy Students Union

Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) produced a workmanlike performance to beat Students Union 3-1 and brighten their chances of avoiding relegation in the BDFA Super Division league at the Bangalore Football stadium on Saturday.

With their fourth victory of the league, ADE have 14 points from eight matches. Students Union are stranded on nine points from eight games and must win their last match against a rampaging KGF Sports Academy on Tuesday to give themselves a chance to survive demotion. Sridhar (10th), substitute Murugan (30th) and Manivannan (86th) slammed ADE’s goals while Jayavandan struck the only goal for Students in the first minute of added time in the first half.

ADE started the game well with Rajkiran and Sridhar in good nick. In the 10th minute, Sridhar got enough on his right foot to deflect Elangovan’s free kick past Students’ custodian Thomas for the opening goal.

There was drama in the 23rd minute when Rajkiran was brought down by a dangerous tackle by Students’ Karthik. Referee T Suresh Kumar handed out a yellow card to Karthik while ADE brought in Murugan for the injured Rajkiran.

Murugan wasted no time as he netted the second goal off a Manivannan pass in the 30th minute.  Students managed to reduce the deficit when Jayavandan smashed in the 45th minute.

Karthik, who had received a yellow earlier, got a red card in the 57th minute for a reckless tackle on ADE’s Naveen Babu. Manivannan then made it 3-1 in the 86th minute off a through ball from Santosh.

Rajkiran injured

Meanwhile, Rajkiran suffered a fracture after being taken down by Karthik. Rajkiran will undergo a surgery and will take three to four months to recover according to doctors.
There will be no matches on Sunday.‘A’ Division: Bangalore Mars: 2 (Shebu 23rd, Deepak 80th) bt DYSS: 1 (Yesu Prakash 60th).
