CET ranks assigned to electronics students

Last Updated 07 July 2012, 18:54 IST

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has assigned CET ranks to students who studied electronics or computer science subjects at the pre-university course in the State.

The new rank list was published on www.kea.kar.nic.in on Saturday evening. The move came three days after the High Court of Karnataka ordered the KEA to consider students who studied electronics or computer science in PUC and wrote the Common Entrance Test (CET) in May for eligibility for admission to undergraduate professional courses. The KEA had not initially assigned CET ranks to students who studied these subjects. The students then approached the High Court and got a favourable judgement.

The KEA had obtained from the Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) details of 1,388 students who studied either of the two subjects in PUC in the State.

The documents of these students will be verified at all the 13 nodal centres across Karnataka on July 10.

Students from other boards of senior secondary education who have not got CET ranks should send the scanned copies of their marks cards to keaauthority-kea@nic.in by 2 pm on Tuesday. Marks cards should neither be faxed nor submitted in person.
