The Nigerian recruit scored for Mohun Bagan in the 19th and 72nd minutes, while Mohammed Rafi found the target for Mahindra in the 70th minute of the second semifinal at the Ambedkar Stadium.
With the win, Mohun Bagan went past their arch-rivals from Kolkata, East Bengal in the number of appearances in the final of the third oldest club-competition in the world.
Before the match, both Mohun Bagan and East Bengal were tied at 16 titles and 10 runner-up. If Mohun Bagan win the final on September 22 they will also become the club with most number of Durand Cup titles with 17 crowns as against 16 of East.
