PGs told to be abreast of developments

Vice-chancellor of JSS University Dr B Suresh on Saturday advised postgraduate students to be abreast of the opportunities to meet the rising clinical challenges and equip themselves with the latest knowledge in the field of medicine.

He was speaking after inaugurating ‘PG EXCEL 2012’ at Rajendra Auditorium, JSS College of Pharmacy, here recently.

The department of anaesthesiology, JSS Medical College, had organised the two-day programme to sharpen the skills of post graduate students and guide them to excel in academics.

Continued medical education programmes would not only impart knowledge but infuse their brains with the latest updates, he said.

Principal of JSS Medical College Dr H Basavanagowdappa released the CME book and said: “This programme aims to clear many hurdles of a postgraduate and help learn evidence based medicine”.

The programme was attended by nearly 300 delegates and 50 resource persons from different parts o the state and neighbouring states.

Chairman of the organising committee Dr P N Viswanathan, organising secretary Dr Akkamahadevi P, Dr Sarika and Dr Anup were present.

CAVA invites applns

Chamarajendra Academy of Visual Arts (CAVA) has invited applications from the interested students for MFA courses, said a release from the dean.
