Three women commit suicide in City

Two sisters committed suicide by setting themselves ablaze at Mathikere in the city.

Sulochana (56) and Kamala (42) set thems  elves ablaze at about 11 pm on Thursday night. They later cried for help. Manju Prasad, son of Kamala doused the fire and rushed the two sisters to Victoria hospital with assistance from the public and police.

Both succumbed to severe burns on Friday morning. While Kamala had lost her husband 19 years ago, Sulochana was unmarried. Manju Prasad is employed in a private company and another son Rajanikath is settled in England.

Police said the sisters had taken a loan to construct the house, but found it tough later.
The Yeshwantpur police have registered a case in this connection.

Hangs self

Sneha, a 23-year-old engineering college lecturer ended life by hanging herself at her Nandini Layout residence in the city.

She was working at East West College in Byadarahalli near Magadi Road. The motive for the suicide is yet to be ascertained. Nandini Layout police have registered a case.
