South Delhi Municipal Corporation on Tuesday decided to award Unmukt Chand Rs 2 lakh on successfully leading India to victory in under 19 cricket World Cup.
Chand, a resident of Delhi, and the captain of under-19 Indian team, made an unbeatable 111 to beat Australia in the final.
Chand has been representing Delhi in domestic cricket and also played in U-15, U-16 and U-19. He is also a part of Delhi Daredevils team in the Indian Premiere League.
This is the third U-19 World Cup title for India. Earlier, Mohammed Kaif led the team in 2000 and Virat Kohli in 2008.
