BJP trying to disturb peace in nation: Sibal

Last Updated 29 August 2012, 20:10 IST

Out on a damage control mission in wake of scathing attack inflicted on Congress government after the CAG’s report on coal block allocations was released, union communication minister Kapil Sibal on Wednesday came down heavily on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and said that the party is trying to provoke people and killing the democratic system in the country.

“The country is going through a difficult phase as BJP along with some other forces are trying to disturb the peace and stability of the country. These forces do not have trust in the parliament,” said Sibal in a meeting held at Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee’s (DPCC) office in Central Delhi attended by party MLAs, councillors, district and block presidents.   The meeting was called to brief the party workers about the “false allegations” against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh so that they can enlighten people in their areas on door-to-door basis about false propaganda of the BJP.

Sibal also said that the BJP was a party of the rich people, hence did not understand the common people’s difficulties.
