Youth held for blackmailing ex-girlfriend

A youth was arrested for allegedly blackmailing a 22-year-girl from Madhya Pradesh with an explicit MMS featuring her, police said.

The victim stays at a paying guest accommodation in south extension in south Delhi and is pursuing an animation course. She told the police that she became friends with the accused, Sandeep Shinde, two years ago. They fell in love subsequently, the police said.
Six months ago, Shinde made friends with another girl, an 18-year-old resident of Jaitpur.

In June, he took the girl to Faridabad for five days. The girl’s parents filed a missing complaint at the Govindpuri police station in south east Delhi.  They also asked him to marry her, to which Shinde agreed.

He then informed his previous girlfriend that he was marrying another girl and asked her to move on. They separated and did not speak to each other after changing their phone numbers.

On August 17, Shinde went to his previous girlfriend’s institute. He asked her to come with him, but she refused and warned him not visit her again. Shinde then threatened her, saying he had explicit MMSes featuring he. He threatened to upload them on the Internet.

The victim complied. Shinde then took her to the Buddha Jayanti Garden. On the pretext of giving her the MMSes back, Shinde had sex with her forcibly and beat her up.
But she managed to take away the two memory cards which had the video clips. She broke them up and left the place.

When she was about to leave, Shinde told her he had copies of the videos. The girl went to the Kotla Mubarkpur police station and narrated the whole incident.

Police conducted several raids but failed to locate Shinde. On August 22, he came to her institute again and asked her to come with him. When she resisted, he beat her up and snatched her phone.

She immediately called the police control room from her friend’s mobile. Police rushed to the spot and nabbed Shinde.
