Fall in love with chocolates, all over again

A mere utterance of the word chocolate makes the mouth water. Imagine what will chocolate in various forms all around do. Chocolate lovers have a chance to experience that.

With the onset of festive season, Select Citywalk brings a three-day chocolate festival that will have chocolate making, tasting, sampling and designing sessions by many leading brands of the country.

Beginning September 14, the festival ‘Chocolicious Festival’, will have participation of leading chocolatiers and patisseries like Choko la, L’Opera, Belgique Chocolates, Angels in my Kitchen, The Choco House, Coco World displaying their creativity and different tastes.

Other highlights of the festival will be a live chocolate installation – chocolate ball measuring five feet in diameter mounted on a 2.5 ft., cube and a chocolate version of the famous Eiffel Tower and chocolate pizza-making sessions for kids. The event also aims at creating an early festive environment, allowing the visitors to place their Diwali gifting orders.

Not just limited to tasting and sampling, the live chocolate-making session will have chefs imparting knowledge about the chocolate-making process. Thomas Blanch­ard, executive chef of L’Opera will show people how to play with sugar and create authentic French treats. The delights would also be available for tasting. Along with him, pastry chef Amit Sinha will give away secrets behind the perfect ganache.

Shradha Singh, deputy managing director of French Bakery which manages L’Opera says the even will allow them to introduce people to authentic high-end French pastry and bakery products. “It will also give us an opportunity to create a taste of France here in Delhi,” she says.

Speaking on its Choko la’s participation, Ravi Pahuja, COO, Cosmic Kitchen, says, “The reason to participate is to reach out to people and create a chocolate culture and educate people about real chocolate.” Some of the best talent of Delhi’s Culinary and Cake Decorating School will also be part of the festival displaying their cakes.
