In town with a Barfi!

sugary cast

The cast of Barfi, especially Bollywood’s latest heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor, is leaving no stone unturned to make his film a success.

The cast and crew of the film are being spotted everywhere; from television reality shows to big malls of cities, extensively promoting their film which relases today.

Actors Priyanka Chopra, Ranbir and Ileana D’Cruz recently came to a mall in
Gurgaon and had fun interacting with fans. Ranbir, who is working for the first time with Anurag Basu, said he had been wanting to work the director long before the film’s script had been narrated to him. “Anurag was one director I was really keen to work with,” said Ranbir, who has no dialogues since he plays a deaf and dumb boy.

Ranbir is so impressed with Anurag that he wants to work with him again very soon. “I can say with a lot of confidence and with a lot of humility that he is one of the finest filmmakers I have worked with. I hope to work with him really soon again,” he shared.

The film is special for Priyanka too, who is known for her diverse roles. Barfi  presents the award-winning actress in the role of an autistic girl. She calls Barfi her hardest film ever, though shooting for it was far more fun. “This is my toughest film to date but I had so much fun. Shooting for it was only about laughter, stupidity, making fun of ourselves and making fun of others,” said Priyanka, sharing her experience.

For southern superstar Ileana, who is making her Bollywood debut and has been cast opposite Ranbir, the film was an emotional experience. “Its been a fantastic experience. The film is very emotional and I am very proud to be a part of it.”

The film’s unusual title has not missed by the fans. When somebody asked Anurag how is the title related to the film, he said, “Today we have so many sequels. So if Barfi’s sequel comes in future we can choose from gulabjamun, jalebi, rabri. That is why we kept this name!” Here’s to a sweet film, then!
