Convention of physically challenged persons

The JD(S) is organising a convention of physically challenged persons to pressure the Government to look into the demands of physically challenged.

Addressing the media in Bangalore on Tuesday, JD(S) leader S Basavanna said the convention will be held on October 7 at Palace Grounds.

He alleged that physically challenged are not getting government employment as there is no proper policy to accommodate them. There are as many as 18.8 lakh physically challenged persons.

The BJP government should have looked into their justful demands. In every taluk, monthly pension has been withdrawn for at least 1,500 physically challenged, he alleged.
