Several veterinary doctors submitted their resignation to the Additional Deputy Commissioner R S Peddappayya.

The doctors complained that they worked under severe pressure due to a lack of basic facilities.

They said that they have been striving to make the facilities available to the doorstep of the farmers which is why their demands should be fulfilled to increase the productivity of the doctors.

The committee formed under the aegis of the  Additional chief secretary and Development Commissioner to take decisions on the restructuring of the department should implement the decision at the earliest, they urged. The decision has been pending for the past one year with no clear outcome.

This will enable them to improve the administrative and technical structure of the department, they said.

They demand the salaries of the veterinary doctors be fixed on par with the doctors of the Health and Family Welfare Department.

Their other demands included the upgrading of the animal husbandry clinics to hospitals, increase in the infrastructure facilities in the hospital and others.
