Work on Yettinahole project to begin in three months

The work on the ambitious Yettinahole project will commence before January 15 next year and completed within the stipulated time, Deputy Chief Minister K S Eshwarappa said.

“The preliminary work relating to the project should be completed in the next three months. There should be no scope for the launch of the project beyond January 15,” Eshwarappa said here on Saturday.

He was speaking in a progress review meeting in Chikkaballapur.

The deputy chief minister, who obtained information pertaining to the project from the officials concerned, asked the latter to make a priority-wise list of the tasks to be completed, the required funds and such other preliminary details.

Five-phase work

Cheluvaraju, the supervising  engineer in charge of the project said the project would be implemented in five phases. Before launching the work, the land at the work site need to be acquired and sanction should be obtained from the Forest department after which tender process should be initiated.

The issue need to be discussed with the ministers concerned to take the project forward, he added.

The engineer said a technical sub-committee has cleared the project and an order from the deputy commissioner, Hassan, was awaited for further action. 

Officials of the departments concerned need to be consulted for further process.

Meetings will be held on third Saturdays of every month in Kolar and Chikkaballapur districts exclusively to review the progress of the project, the engineer remarked.

District in-charge minister A Narayanaswamy, district in-charge secretary N C Muniyappa, Deputy Commissioner Dr N Manjula, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer B S Shekharappa, Kolar Deputy Commissioner C S Vishwanath, Kolar ZP Chief Executive Officer Zulfikar and officers of various departments were present in the meeting.
