The latest collection from Max celebrates the festive season with rich colours and drapes. The collection is contemporary, yet has a regal, old-world charm. The designs have been inspired by traditional Indian crafts like block-printing, brocade patches, subtle embellishments and exquisite hand and machine embroidery on cotton, silk blends and blended jacquards as well as Parisian fashion.

Fine fabrics and exquisite cuts

There is a host of fine fabrics, which are available for those who prefer to keep it casual during the festival. The collection is defined by the use of rich and bright colours like wine, plum, purple, red, royal blue, emerald green and fuchsia, which add elegance to the garments.

Vasanth Kumar, the executive director of Max, says that the brand wanted to make fashion accessible to all — at moderate prices. “Max aims at offering the most stylish merchandise at great prices. This particular collection lives up to the promise of delighting the entire family, while highlighting the key trends of the season. We are certain that the entire range will be well received,” he states.

The festive collection also has a fusion-wear range, which is Indian, but in keeping with global trends. It comprises new silhouettes, that include long tunics, flared kurtis, front-open tunics and long shirt tops. The kurtas are very traditional and have hand-block prints. Tavisha, one of the styles of kurta, is simple and elegant, made with fabrics like silks blends, chanderi, brocades, jacquards and cottons.

Couching and mirror work add to the style factor.  “This season allows the fashion fraternity to experiment with form, cuts and prints. It is apt for everyday comfort as well as festive occasions.

The range has been created keeping in mind the needs and tastes of the modern Indian woman and man. Stunningly designed, this collection captures contemporary fashion while reflecting international quality and style. We hope to go beyond the look of the clothes and create an experience,” says Kamakshi Kaul, the head designer of the brand.

The collection is also easy-to-wear. The clothes are durable as well as comfortable.
The ‘Autumn Festive’ collection also has a range of garments, made from fabrics which are lightweight and warm — perfect for the winter. These include mid-length kurtas with embroidery, flocking and placement print, which can be teamed with denims or heavy-knit leggings.

The collection also includes high-necked striped tunics, cowl-necked, hooded tunics, front-open long jackets with pockets and flat-knit rib sweaters. The latest addition are the light-weight acrylic sweaters in vibrant colours.
