Last week, people who came to Garuda Mall not just enjoyed shopping, but also witnessed a rocking music performance.

They danced to the rhythm and beat of lilting musical gala Voice of Bangalore (VoB), city’s biggest talent hunt programme.

The quarter final of the show took the audience on an exploration of music for nearly three hours. The occasion witnessed a stunning performance by the 12 participants out of which eight participants made it to the semi-finals.

The young and promising voice of Karnataka, M D Pallavi was there to judge the participants along with playback singer Chaitra and composer Ricky Kej.
Portraying her signature smile, Pallavi was looking pretty.

“I always like to be a part of this kind of programmes which could well be a launch pad for great career in music. There is no dearth of good voices, but they are waiting to be discovered. Nowadays, there are many talent hunt programmes but the opportunity to showcase one’s talent in a big way are few,” she noted.

Keeping aside the stress of the contest, the blooming singers infused new life into many familiar songs.

They exhibited a great variety of forms and songs.  A slow melody Manase by Abhimanyu, the fast and bouncing Pyar ka Diwaana by Yukta contributed to the musical evening. The turbulent Tu hi re by Shamshir and the sentimental Mitwa by  Salauddin made the crowd lip-sync to the songs and sway to the music.

In male section Vyasaraja, Samsher, Md Salauddin Ghouri and Vikas Vashista emerged victorious.

The female participants who made it to the semifinals are Yukta Rao, Akanksha Badami, Swarna Rathod and Sahana.

The event was followed by  a brief concert by Chaitra and Pallavi.

Looking gorgeous in a white tunic, Chaitra sang a remix song with a teasing twist.
Pallavi entered the stage and had the audience squealing with delight. She presented her chartbuster Nodayya kvate lingave from Duniya.

This is the third successful season of VoB and it will go on till October 10.
