A 37-year-old construction worker, who allegedly struck at houses in PP Layout and Uttarahalli, was arrested recently.

Rudresh, a resident of Ramanagar, was a construction worker before taking to robbery and theft, police said. During interrogation, Rudresh said he was inspired by reports in media on details of such crimes. He bought an air gun from a shop in Majestic and targeted the newly built houses where he had worked.

He would watch the houses for two days and on the third day, he would strike at the houses when women were alone. He would threaten them at gun point and rob them of valuables.

The police seized the air gun and stolen articles. A case has been registered at Subramanyapura police station.
