Sene cancels shobha yathre at last minute

In the wake of Sri Ram Sene holding the shobhayathre on Sunday, a tension like situation has been created in Chikmagalur. Speaking to Deccan Herald, Superintendent of Police M N Nagaraj said “we had given permission to hold shobhayathre on Saturday. Shobhayahtre will not be held on Sunday.”

“We had sought permission for shobhayathre on October 4. Even today, we have submitted our appeal to SP. Sri Ram Sene has decided to hold Shobhayathre on Sunday,” said Arun Kumar Puthila, a Sri Ram Sene leader.

It is learnt that the Shobhayathre was suspended after Sri Ram Sene Baitak at Vallabha Ganapathy temple on Saturday at 3 pm.

In the wake of shobhayathre, district administration had deployed 1500 police personnel.
All the roads leading to Datta Peeta was heavily guarded. For the security purpose, five check posts were opened. In fact, IGP (Western range) Gopal Hosur is in Chikmagalur.
The abhiyana will be led by Pramod Muthalik, Vilas Pawar and Siddalinga Swamiji.
