The Anti Naxal Force (ANF) on Wednesday launched combing operations in Vanagur gram panchayat limits of the taluk.
According to sources, the ultras are suspected to be hiding in the villages coming under Bisle protected forest area.
The ANF is said to have requisitioned additional forces for combing operations in the hilly terrain. A 20-member team of the ANF descended on Honnatlu village in Vanagur GP limits in the morning.
However, the operations began only at noon after the arrival of Alok Kumar, Inspector General of Police, ANF.
