Night train service to Karwar begins

The South Western Railway (SWR) on Wednesday launched night train service to Karwar by bifurcating train Nos 16517/16518 (Yeshwantpur-Kannur -Yeshwantpur Express) — one towards Kannur with five coaches from Mangalore and second train to Karwar with 13 coaches from Mangalore.

In an official release, the SWR said between Yeshwantpur-Mangalore-Yeshwantpur stations the train shall run as one train only.  As there may be some passengers bound for Kannur whose reservation is in the coaches bound for Karwar, it is proposed that these passengers shall be accommodated in the coaches bound for Kannur, from Yeshwantpur itself.

Berth number and coach number of these passengers are likely to be changed at Yeshwantpur.
