'KMF facing major trouble'

JD(S) leader H D Revanna, and former chairperson of Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) has alleged that former managing director A S Premnath, along with others, was making concerted efforts to jeopardise the functioning of the Federation.

Addressing the media in Bangalore on Wednesday, Revanna alleged that Premnath and S C Ashok, one of the directors of Karnataka Co-operative Milk Producers’ Federation Ltd, were conspiring to oust the just appointed managing director of KMF, Harsh Gupta.

The duo had, in fact, filed an application before the court of additional registrar of co-operative societies, to stay the meeting which is to be chaired by Gupta.  

He said that KMF was facing major troubles and that about 15,000 tonnes of milk powder and 4,000 tonnes of butter, both worth around Rs 400 crore had been stocked up for the last eight to ten months. Revanna said it was important for an IAS officer to take charge to set things right in the Federati- on.

He also alleged that Premanath had used up about Rs one  crore of KMF’s funds to fight his legal battles, and demanded that KMF recover the amount from him.
