Murder in parked school bus, 2 held

Victim allegedly sodomised local youths

A conductor of a private bus, used by Delhi Public School’s R K Puram branch, allegedly strangled a youth in a bus in Janakpuri of west Delhi.

The conductor, a minor from Shiv Vihar in Uttam Nagar, along with another juvenile has been apprehended for killing Galafadu, 24, a bad character of the area.

“The bus was parked in front of its owner’s house in Janakpuri block A when the incident took place during the wee hours of Wednesday,” said V Renganathan, additional commissioner of police (west).

A case of murder has been lodged over a statement of bus owner Inderpal Ahlawat, who runs VIP Transport and owns 13 buses which are used in schools.

The bus drivers parked their vehicles in lane in front of Inderpal’s house and return home, but the conductors stay back and sleep inside the buses.

Inderpal told police that the incident came to light when another conductor Amarjeet Paswan knocked on the door of his house around 1 am on Wednesday and informed him.
“Amarjeet told Inderpal that the conductor of the DPS bus was severely beating a youth inside the bus and asked him to interfere,” the official added.

They then rushed towards the bus, and found Galafadu lying unconcious on the bus floor.
Galafadu’s hands were tied, so Inderpal and Amarjeet untied him and took him to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital.

“The doctors, however, declared him brought dead upon arrival,” the official said.

Inderpal approached police after Galafadu’s death and provided details of the entire incident.

A raid was later conducted at the juvenile’s Uttam Nagar home, and he was detained.
Police said his questioning has revealed that Galafadu used to take drugs and sodomise youths of the area.
