Postal employees take out rally

Members of Akhila Bharata Anche Elakethara (Postal department) Naukarara Sangha took out a protest rally in Chamarajanagar recently to urge the authorities concerned to fulfill their demands.

They demanded implementation of Justice Talwar Committee report, which insists on regularising services of employees who work for more than five hours.

Providing jobs on compassionate grounds should be cancelled and successors to the demised should be given an opportunity. Postal constables should be appointed on seniority basis. They also urged for filling up vacancies in the department.

The ‘extra-employees’ of the postal department insisted on payment of salary on time and clearing of arrears.

They said, wage revision of 2006 should be implemented to facilitate daily wage labourers in the department.

Shekanna, N B Kumar, Chikkalingappa, Shivanna, Nijalinga Murthy, Rajanna, Subbanna, Mahesh, Rajappa, Nataraju, Nagendra, Rajamma, Gayathri Devi, Uma and others including staffers from Yelandur, Gundlupet and T Narsipur participated.
