Mamata refutes media reports on banning film

In a sharp reaction on banning the Bengali film ‘Teen Kanya’, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday alleged that a section of the media is propagating falsehood against the state without knowing the exact details.

“It has been reported that government has banned one particular film from public viewing.

The government has never interfered in this issue was clearly indicated by the State Home Secretary. You all are, perhaps, aware that the same film is being shown in many places in Kolkata and throughout the State,” Banerjee posted on her Facebook on Monday.  However the director and producer of the film are planning legal action.
