D B Chandre Gowda, who lost the battle as Congress candidate in Sringeri in the 2008 elections, has now won in Bangalore North as BJP candidate. H Vishwanath who had suffered two consecutive defeats in K R Nagar has won from Mysore defeating the BJP sitting MP Vijayashankar.

Dharam Singh had suffered a major blow by losing Jevargi seat in Gulbarga in 2008 by a thin margin. He has succeeded to get a chance to enter the Parliament from Bidar.

Ramesh Jigajinagi who failed to make it the State Assembly from Chikodi, has won from Bijapur. Cheluvarayaswamy who lost in Nagamangala, has won from Mandya. P C Mohan who did not make it to the Assembly from Gandhinagar, has won from Bangalore Central.
The results proved disaster for Gurupadappa Nagmarapalli and C P Yogeeshwara. Both contested on the BJP tickets after resigning as MLAs from Bidar and Channapatna, respectively. Now they are neither MLAs nor MPs. Yogeeshwara is planning to contest for by-election to Channapatna. But Nagmarapalli does not have that chance. His son contested Bidar by-election and lost.
