The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday filed a review petition in the Allahabad High Court seeking a review of its November 8 order directing the transfer of Noida Authority’s chairman and chief executive officer over lapses in land transfer.

The court had ordered the immediate transfer of Noida Authority chairman Rakesh Bahadur and CEO Sanjeev Saran following a petition filed by Madhav Samaj Nirman Samiti against Bahadur and Saran.

The state government has sought reconsideration of the court’s earlier order, following which the High Court issued notice to Madhav Samaj Nirman Samiti and gave it two weeks to respond. The court gave one week to the state government to file a rejoinder.
In his November 8 order, Justice P K S Baghel had also directed the departments to complete pending departmental and criminal probes against the two officials within six months.

The court had also asked the state government not to appoint Bahadur and Saran anywhere in western Uttar Pradesh. The court had observed that there were evidences of irregularities in allotment of land to the hotel industry in Noida.
Both officials were posted in Noida from 2005 to 2007 when Mulayam Singh was chief minister.
