Two people were killed in separate accidents in the City on Monday.A Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike contractor was killed on the spot when a two-wheeler knocked him down on Queen’s Road in Shivajinagar traffic police limits.
Shekhar, 39, was a resident of Rajiv Gandhi Colony near Cunningham Road, police said. The accident occurred when Shekhar was crossing the road. The two-wheeler rider, Tony Ambrose, 22, lost control of the two-wheeler and mowed down Shekhar. Ambrose, however, escaped unhurt, police said.
Ambrose, a resident of K Narayanpura in Hennur, was arrested by the police. Shekhar is survived by his wife and three children, police said.
Hotelier run over
In another accident, a hotel owner was killed when a speeding vehicle mowed him down on Nice Road in Electronics City traffic police limits early Monday morning.
Vasudev, a resident of Bidadi, was on his way to his brother’s house when the accident occurred.
A native of Kundapura in Udupi district, he was running a hotel in Gandhinagar for some time, before moving to Bidadi, police said.
