Cong observers collect opinions on probable candidates

 All India Congress Committee (AICC) and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) election observers convened a meeting at Ambedkar Bhavan in the city on Tuesday, to discuss about the selection of party candidates for the forth coming Assembly and Parliament elections.

Opinions of the party leaders and workers were collected on the selection of candidates. Former Kerala minister Ravi was the AICC observer, while former Tiptur MLA Ibrahim and Congress leaders Rajanna and Shadakshari were KPCC observers.

The names of Udupi-Chikmagalur MP Jayaprakash Hegde and former union minister D K Tharadevi have been making rounds for Udupi-Chikmagalur Parliamentary constituency.  
The supporters of former MLAs T H Shivashankarappa, S M Nagarajappa, B R Neelakantappa and ZP former president Dhruv Kumar assembled in a large number requesting the KPCC observers to field the candidate of their choice from Tarikere constituency Assembly.

The supporters of ZP former President T D Raje Gowda, Balemane Nataraj, B C Geetha, H G Venkatesh, Sachin Meega wanted their candidates to be fielded from Sringeri constituency.

While the supporters of former minister C R Sagir Ahmed, Shanthe Gowda, Kumaraswamy and C N Akmal requested the observers to field their candidates from Chikmagalur constituency. Party workers supporting former minister B B Ningaiah, B N Chandrappa, Nagarathnamma and Ananth submitted a memorandum requesting candidates of their choice from Mudigere constituency.

The supporters of former MLA K B M, Kadur C Nanjappa and Kemparaj wanted to field their candidates from Kadur constituency.

AICC observer Murali said that earlier opinions were collected when the election was nearing. Now, we have started the process much in advance.
