Lovers pop sleeping pills in bus, end lives

Dejected over parents' opposition to their love affair, a boy and a girl committed suicide by consuming sleeping tablets in a bus in Kundapur on Wednesday.

The boy, who was in a critical condition, died in a government hospital in Mangalore on Thursday.

According to the police, Manasa K M, a student of Chikkaballapura PU College, and K S Manjunath, a staff at a medical shop, consumed sleeping pills on their way to Kundapur from Nelamangala on the City outskirts.

On reaching the last stop, the bus cleaner found Manjunath in a critical condition in the last row of seats. He also saw the girl unconcious and informed the police. The girl died on the way to hospital. Police said they found sleeping pills on their seats.
