Online dictionaries launched in 12 languages on 12-12-12

On the unique date of 12-12-12 today, a city-based website launched online dictionaries in 12 prominent languages of the country here.

Sunil Khandbahale, the founder of online site khandbahale.com released a set of twelve dictionaries at 12:12:12 hours.

The dictionaries were launched in Marathi, Hindi, English, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Bengali, Sanskrit and Urdu.

To mark the occasion, city based artist Ashok Nagpure prepared sketches of 12 former Presidents of India since Independence, from Dr Rajendra Prasad to Pratibha Patil.

He drew the sketches on a 12 sq metre paper sheet and completed his drawings at 12:12:12 hours, when they were unveiled.

People were seen applauding the efforts of the artist to celebrate the occasion.

In another function, noted writer Ramdas Wagh released 12 books in 'Ahirani', a common language spoken in Nandurbar, Dhule, Jalgaon and Malegaon towns of Khandesh region in north Maharashtra.
