Modi, Sonia trade charges

Last Updated 14 December 2012, 20:02 IST

War of words continued between Chief Minister Narendra Modi and Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Friday in a last-ditch effort by both leaders to woo voters before the second phase of voting scheduled for Monday.

Addressing a rally at Kalol near Gandhinagar, the Congress president in a bid to reach out to voters spoke in Gujarati asking them to take the right decision and vote for the people.
Attacking Modi, the UPA chairperson went on to say that Central funds were being misused by the Gujarat government to harp on false development claims.

Gandhi said, “UPA has provided them with large funds for agriculture development, water harvesting and for other such schemes, which is also their (Gujarat) right.”  She said the Centre gave 50 per cent more funds to Gujarat than the BJP-led NDA government.
