Car-truck collision kills three

Three persons died on the spot and another sustained severe injuries when a car they were travelling in collided with a tipper truck near Hoskote Monday night.

Pradeep, 25, a resident of Naduvatti in Hoskote, Ravi Kumar, 30, of Doddi Nelagedarahalli and Satish Kumar, 26, of Guttalli in Kolar are the dead.

Ramesh, 22, has been admitted to Nimhans in a critical condition. According to the police, they were employed at a private factory at Pillagumpa Industrial Area near Hoskote.

Lost control

The accident took place at Jangamakote on Hoskote Road when they were returning home in a car. When the drivers of the tipper truck and the cab tried to overtake each other, Kumar is said to have lost control of the car and it collided with the truck.

Satish and Kumar were killed on the spot, while Pradeep was declared dead at the hospital on arrival. The police have seized the truck and taken the driver into custody.

The bodies were handed over to the relatives after autopsy at the Hoskote government hospital.
