Cong urges govt to issue ration cards

“About 50 per cent of BPL cards have been cancelled in the district and the poor are suffering. This is nothing but the failure of the state government,” said DCC president B T Pradip at a press conference here recently.

He said Anthyodaya and BPL cards have been cancelled in three taluks of Kodagu district. As a result, card holders cannot avail foodgrains through PDS.

“If no measures are taken to receive fresh applications, the Congress will stage a protest in all three taluks,” he warned.

He also accused the government of not taking up maintenance work of the roads in the last four years.
