Land acquisition: Court notice to NICE

 Asha and Manjunath, owners of the land, have challenged NICE’s attempt to acquire the land for its link road saying that the area falls under the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike limits and NICE cannot acquire it. The petitioners further submitted that an elevated road and a grade separator have already been planned by the BBMP at this junction. Justice B S Patil ordered notice to NICE and others.

Acquisition challenged
In another case, Justice Patil ordered notice to Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) after petitioner Narasimha Reddy challenged the acquisition of his one acre 29 guntas of land at Sampigehalli for Arakavathi layout.

The petitioner had stated that the land acquisition is not necessary now considering the future of Arkavathi layout and sought to exclude it.
