<p>The much awaited cabinet reshuffle and expansion in Jammu and Kashmir is on cards with both the ruling National Conference (NC) and the Congress reaching an agreement over the issue.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Sources said all the NC ministers, advisers, chairpersons and vice chairpersons of various Boards would submit their resignations to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday to facilitate re-constitution of Council of Ministry and the party.<br /><br />Similarly, they said, Congress, a coalition partner in the Omar-led government, has already decided to induct and drop some of its ministers and change portfolios of others.<br /><br />“A major reshuffle-cum-expansion and change of portfolios would take place in next few days,” sources told Deccan Herald.<br /><br />The chief minister gave enough indication that the cabinet rejig was on cards. “Dear Aspiring Ministers PLEASE don’t come and ask me to make you ministers. Trust the Almighty & your destiny, (and) leave the rest to me,” Omar wrote on micro blogging website Twitter.<br /><br />The tweet was responded to by NC senior leader and Member of Parliament Dr Mehbooba Beig. “Excellent way of doing things on merit,” Beig responded.<br /><br />A senior NC leader said that along with the ministry, there would be a major reshuffle in organisational structure of the party. “With 2014 Assembly elections in mind, some of the dropped ministers could be assigned crucial party assignments while some senior leaders, working for the party, might be inducted in the ministry.”<br /><br />He said that atleast 5-6 NC ministers could be dropped and assigned party posts to strengthen the party and gear up well ahead for Assembly elections, which have been named by the party as ‘Mission 2014’.</p>
