JOIN USFour persons have been detained for their alleged involvement in a death of a 25-year-old woman, who was found hanging under mysterious circumstances in Okhla on Tuesday. Police are investigating whether she was sexually assaulted.
According to sources, one of the accused is reportedly the son of a Bahujan Samaj Party municipal councillor.
Police said the victim was a divorcee and lived with her minor daughter. A man identified as Rahul had arranged the rented accommodation for the woman.
“We got a police control room call from Rahul’s mother regarding the suicide of a women. She was rushed to a nearby government hospital, where she was declared brought dead. In her autopsy, it was found that she was smothered to death. Rahul has been arrested along with his three friends,” said a police officer.
Police said Rahul used to visit her house, and was often seen with her.
