Local rowdy is against the move to construct toilet at illegal parking lot in Kalasipalyam market

The Kalasipalyam corporator has lodged a complaint with the jurisdictional police and the Commissioner of Police alleging threat to his life.

BJP corporator P Dhanaraj said rowdy Adimoolam alias Hadimoola and his associate Seena alias Kottambari Seena had threatened to kill him if he did not stop the construction of a toilet at the Kalasipalyam wholesale market.

“They did it in the presence of MLA Hemachandra Sagar. I need protection for myself and my family and hence I have lodged a police complaint,” he told Deccan Herald.
Dhanaraj said he would move the court in a week’s time if the police failed to provide him security.

The Kalasipalyam police said they had registered a case against Adimoolam. “He is a rowdy, but there has been no criminal record against him for the last 10 years. He is a reformed man now. The corporator does not have evidence to establish his allegations and claims it was an oral threat,” an officer said.

The wholesale market in Kalasipalyam is the biggest in the City. People have been using a piece of land on AM Road as a public toilet. Sucha a facility was provided when Premila Nesargi was MLA in 1994. Later, local rowdies demolished it and used it as a parking lot and started collecting money, Dhanaraj said.

There is no public toilet facility in the entire area and thousands of people visit the market every day.

“I raised the matter in the council and got Rs 20 lakh sanctioned for constructing a toilet with bathing facility. The police cleared the parking lot and fenced it. This irked Adimoolam who is plotting to kill me. So, I took up the issue with the MLA,” Dhanaraj claimed.

“They warned me in front of the MLA to stay away from the land or face the consequences. I will be murdered for fighting for a public cause and hence lodged a complaint,” he said.
