Investigations revealed that Sundar of Vinoba Nagar was assaulted by a gang in Tilak Nagar on the night of March 8. The gang had planned to finish him off, but he escaped with injuries and is presently undergoing treatment at the Victoria Hospital.

Sundar was a close associate of Kumar, a local ruffian and strongman of Vinoba Nagar. Kumar and his men had a rivalry with Raju and his gang of Cement Colony.

On hearing that Sundar had been attacked, Kumar and his gang assumed that Raju and his men were behind the attack and confronted them at Cement Colony.

A verbal duel broke out between the two gangs and when things went out of control, Kumar was hacked to death with lethal weapons by Raju’s men.

However, investigations revealed that Sundar was attacked by Mani, Ambrose and others. The police have arrested Mani and his accomplices too.
