The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is committed to providing good service to its customers, said BSNL Kolar Division DGM M G Nirmala.

Speaking at an interaction programme organised by the BSNL, she said: “ Road repair work and power shortage are the main hurdles in ensuring efficient service to our consumers. There are as many as 14 telephone exchange centres in Mulbagal taluk.

Added to this, 16 towers will be constructed soon.”

In the City, as many as 337 BSNL consumers have availed broadband services. Youths in rural areas should enhance their opportunities by accessing internet services, she added.
Speaking on behalf of consumers, G Pappanna of Madivala village in the taluk alleged that complaints registered at Lok Adalat in Kolar has not been addressed yet.

Reach of private telecom services is widening in rural areas due to the BSNL’s poor services. Also, wires in telephone exchange centres in rural areas are old and needs to be changed at the earliest, he added.

Also speaking at the meeting, V Venkatachala of Urukunte Mittur village urged that a new telecom tower be set up in the village.

“Our Grama Panchayat has allocated land for the construction of telephone exchange centre. The BSNL should give its nod and begin the work,” he said.

Also, those who had gathered at the meeting urged that 3G broadband services be provided in Mulbagal city.
