Girl returning from summer camp killed in accident

 A seven-year-old girl, who was returning from a summer camp in her school, was killed in an accident on Magadi Road near Kaveripura Cross on Wednesday afternoon.

The victim, Chinmayi N Gowda, daughter of Nagaraju, was a resident of Vinayaka Nagar in Kamakshipalya. Mohan Kumar, who was working at Chinmayi’s house, picked her up and her elder sister Tejaswini from the school and they were returning on a bike.

Both Mohan Kumar and the girls fell down when a speeding car knocked them down near Kaveripura Cross. Chinmayi sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot.

Though she was rushed to a nearby hospital, she was declared brought dead. Mohan Kumasustained escaped with minor injuries. Kamakshipalya traffic police have arrested the car driver.

BTC staffer killed

In another accident, a helper at Bangalore Turf Club was killed when he fell from a moving BMTC bus near Rajiv Gandhi Circle on Tuesday evening.

Praveen Kumar, 42, a resident of Basaveshwara Nagar, was on his way home after finishing the day’s work when the accident occurred. As he was trying to get into a BMTC Vajra bus, the hydraulic doors of the bus closed. Kumar lost his balance, fell down and suffered a head injury.

Though he was rushed to a hospital, he was declared brought dead.
