PM refuses to discuss Raja issue in public

Apparently disapproving Raja’s statement, Singh told reporters here that Cabinet matters are not discussed in public. At the same time, he said the Opposition’s allegation of irregularities were not right.

Asked about Raja’s statement that he had consulted PM all along on the spectrum issue, Singh said: “I don’t want to comment on Cabinet matters or what happens in the Cabinet or what happens between me and the minister in public.

“It is not proper for me to join issue with the Cabinet colleague in public.”
On allegations against Raja and his ministry, Singh said “in democracy, charges are traded but that does not mean what the Opposition is saying is right”.
