The distance between M G Road and the Garden City College is approximately 13 kms. But the students of Garden City College still throng M G Road every weekend as they say that there are not many happening places near their college. Though the lane leading to their college has many eat-outs, students feel that’s not enough for them. The college has strict rules, hence the students cannot go out during class hours. The college green house and the canteen have also turned into a paradise for the students.

Vivek Chaturvedi, a final-year BCA student: I spend most of my free time either in the green house or in the library. Being far away from the City, I cannot go out much. It’s rarely that I go to Brigade Road with friends. The GCC Lake (or the KR Puram Lake), which is about three kms, offers me some solace.
Nikkil Grover, a second-year BBM student: Since I have a car, I can go anywhere anytime. Shelton near M G Road is my favourite spot. There aren’t many places to hang out near the college for me. I am regularly irregular to the college. I also visit the Evoma Hotel near the college, which provides passes to the students.

Pranita Gurung, a second-year BBM student: During class hours, we are not supposed to go out, so we spend most of the time in this beautiful campus. During my free time, I go to the green house and the refreshment area. After college, I spend my time in the hostel.

Yamuna Chetri, a student of tourism: The only eatery outside the college campus is ‘Bake and Cake’, where we get nice pastries and other items. When we are bored and during weekends, the Dubai Plaza on Brigade Road is where we take off to.
