Complaint against KSE

District Election Officer Vipul Bansal has received a complaint from the Congress party against BJP candidate from Shimoga Urban Assembly segment, K S Eshwarappa, in connection with the publication of a supplement highlighting his achievements as MLA over the last five years, here on Saturday.

According to sources, the complaint filed by Congress polling booth agent Anantapadmanabh said a supplement, highlighting the achievements of Eshwarappa as a MLA over the last five years, was distributed to people along with
newspapers on May 4, which violated the model of code of conduct.

This apart, the supplement does not contain details on the number of copies printed and the name of the publisher. The printing cost of the supplement and distribution should be considered as Eshwarappa’s election-related expenditure, he demanded.
District Election Officer Vipul Bansal said the matter will be brought to the notice of the Election Commission for suitable action.
