The Madiwala police on Saturday afternoon arrested 10 people for distributing tender coconuts, in a bid to attract voters in the hot summer.
Acting on a tip-off that several local leaders were distributing tender coconuts to potential voters in front of the zonal Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike office in Bommanahalli, Madiwala police seized about 500 tender coconuts and ten bicycles.
Ten people were arrested, including three vendors and BJP workers.
The Madiwala police have registered a case under the Representation of People's Act, 1951 and are investigating.
