Help pours in for boy ailing from liver disease

Help is pouring in for Naveen Kumar, the boy (from Kyamahalli in the taluk) who is suffering from the ‘budcherry syndrome,’ a rare disease that affects the functioning of liver.

The disease has rapidly progressed in the past six months and now, Naveen is not able to stand, sit or even sleep due to the bulged stomach.

Deccan Herald and its sister paper Prajavani had published a report in their May 16 edition on the boy’s plight, appealing to donors to help Kumar’s poor family financially, to fund his treatment.

Help promised

A donor from Bangalore has promised to bear most of the expenditure of the three surgeries that the nine-year-old has to undergo.

The donors held discussions with regard to the treatment with doctors at Narayana Hrudayalaya in Bangalore, where Kumar and his parents reached on Monday.
A total of Rs 1.95 lakh has been credited to the boy’s account number in the Sakleshpur branch of State Bank of Mysore.

Donors may deposit the monetary aid in account number: 64119032705 to help Naveen Kumar.
