Sanskirt varsity's second convocation on June 14

Governor and pro-chancellor H R Bhardhwaj will preside over the second convocation of the Karnataka Sanskrit University to be held on June 14 at the Central College, Bangalore.

Addressing a press conference, varsity Vice-chancellor, Prof Mallepuram Venkatesh said distinguished Sanskrit scholars, Pt Balachandrashastri Joshi of Dharwad, Vid K S Varadacharya of Mysore, Vid K Narayana Shastri Bucchan of Honnavara and Prof M Shivakumaraswamy of Bangalore will be conferred the DLitt honour. He added that 249 graduates and 166 postgraduates will be awarded degrees and nine rank holders will be felicitated.

Varsity Registrar Prof Y S Sidde Gowda said the government has allocated 100 acres for a new campus at Tippasandra. He stated that the university is planning to begin an evening college from this academic year.
