Rajya Sabha MP T Subbarami Reddy on Monday sent a legal notice to MLA Daggubati Venkateswara Rao.

Rao is the husband of sitting member of the Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency and Union Minister Purandeswari.

Releasing the copy of the notice in Visakhapatnam, Reddy said he would file a defamation suit for Rs 5 crore, if Daggubati failed to offer an unconditional apology to him, within 10 days. Referring to the allegations that Daggubati made against him, he sent a notice with 12 points and warned that he would have to face civil and criminal action if he failed to prove his allegations.

Subbarami Reddy said 33 years ago a false case was hoisted against him that 80 bags of cement were sold illegally and the court had already cleared him of the charge.
He said Daggubati by mentioning about the case that was dismissed long back, sought to damage his image.

However, Daggubati said he was yet to receive the notice. He said he would reply only after receiving the notice. A couple of days back, Daggubati made some serious allegations against the Rajya Sabha member.  He alleged that TSR had sold cement allotted for the Nagarjuna Sagar project. He also said apart from felicitating some retired film actors; TSR had not done any service to Visakhapatnam.
