Sandeep, Paarvi grab top honours

Tamil Nadu’s VM Sandeep and Paarvi S Patil of Karnataka clinched the under-12 boys’ and girls’ singles titles respectively in the KTPPA-AITA Talent Series tournament at the Mahila Seva Samaja courts here on Friday.

Sandeep registered an easy 6-2, 6-1 victory over Karnataka’s Rohan Prashanth in the final while Paarvi got the better of State-mate Chandrika Joshi 6-2, 6-2 in the girls’ summit clash.
In the boys’ final, Sandeep started off slowly taking time to get into a rhythm with Rohan taking a 2-1 lead.

However, Sandeep bounced back soon to pocket five games in a row to polish off the first set at 6-2 to stamp his authority on the match.

Sandeep then took firm control of the proceedings in the second, wrapping it up 6-1 for a comfortable win.
