<p>Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has decided not to accept shawls, garlands, mementos and Mysore petas in public functions. <br /><br /></p>.<p>He made an announcement to this effect while interacting with the public, during the Janata Darshan on Monday. <br /><br />Siddaramaiah said, henceforth, he would not accept felicitations. But he did not cite any reason for the same. <br /><br />When some in the crowd tried to touch his feet to draw his attention, the chief minister curtly asked them not to indulge in such acts.<br /><br />He said all they should be doing is to submit their memorandum or explain their problem so that he can take it up with the officers. <br /><br />Oral instruction<br /><br />On Saturday, KPCC chief G Parameshwara had given oral instructions to all the ministers to refuse felicitations, in order to show solidarity with the grieving families of victims of the Uttarakhand tragedy.</p>
