Customs sleuths seize gold bars

Sleuths of the Air Intelligence unit of the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) arrested an unidentified Indian passenger who arrived from Singapore and confiscated contraband goods worth Rs 26 lakh at the Bangalore International Airport (BIA) on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip-off, the CBEC sleuths intercepted the passenger, examined his baggage and found 10 gold bars, valued at Rs 26.6 lakh. Officials are investigating the matter.
