The Union Cabinet is likely to consider on Wednesday the long-pending demand for renaming Bengaluru International Airport after the City’s founder Nadaprabhu Kempegowda.
Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh had in April last year approved the proposal to rename the airport, following the proposal of Karnataka government. The proposal will be brought before the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, officials said.
Various organisations had suggested to name the airport after Tipu Sultan, social reformer Basaveshwara and former Mysore Dewan Sir M Visvesvaraya.
